From whence I came ....

I spent a lot of time with my grandparents on their farm in Guilford County, North Carolina from childhood through young adulthood.  I remember vividly my grandfather’s woodcarving and folk art windmills and his hand made chains made out of aluminum wire that he forged and formed - an art he learned as a young man during the Depression.

From my dad and grandfather,  I learned the value of hand made and the art of creating “art” - sometimes whimsical - out of ordinary items, especially metal and wood.
